Determine the popularity of your website using Social Meter

Links from external sources can be considered as one of the criterion for the popularity of a website. The more the number of links from external sites, the more popular the website. So how can you determine the popularity of your website or blog?

Social meter is a free online service which helps you to analyze the popularity of your webpages on social sites like Digg, Delicious, etc. Basically what Social meter does is that it scan the major social websites to find links to your webpages. Type the web address of any web page and Social meter will show you how many times that page have been digged, bookmarked or saved in social sites. Socialmeter also provides a score to your website, on the basis of the links to your site. Clicking on the links on the report page will show you the popularity of your website in each of the corresponding bookmarking sites. Social meter currently supports Digg, Deli.icio.us, Technorati, Google, Yahoo My Web, Netscape, Reditt, Linkroll, Spurl, Shadows, Furl and Jots.

Socialmeter also provides a button for your browser called the bookmarklet which shows the social meter score for any site you visit.
